I have felt as though I am standing between what was and what has not yet come.
There is no clear answer in front of me. No unmistakable sign. No voice telling me exactly when to move or where the road will lead.
Only waiting.
I wish I could say I wait peacefully every day, but I do not.
Some days, waiting feels gentle. I can breathe, pray, and trust that God is near even when nothing seems to be changing.
Other days, the silence feels heavier.
I start to wonder whether I missed His direction. I question whether I am being patient or simply standing still on autopilot. I ask myself if He is preparing something for me, or if He is trying to prepare me for something I cannot yet see.
Perhaps that is the hardest and most frustrating part of waiting.
I want to know what God is doing, but He seems more concerned with who I am becoming while in this waiting period we are all under.
There are parts of me that still want to rush ahead. I want certainty before obedience. I want answers before trust. I want to see the entire road before I take the next step.
But faith rarely gives us the whole road or even options sometimes.
Sometimes, it gives us only enough light to remain where we are.
I am beginning to understand that waiting is not always empty. It may appear still on the outside, but something quiet may be changing within us.
Maybe God is teaching me to recognize His presence without needing proof.
Maybe He is showing me that silence does not mean abandonment.
Maybe He is asking whether I can love Him even when I do not understand Him.
That question stays with me for many nights.
Can I remain near when I do not hear His voice?
Can I be content simply knowing He is there?
Can I allow the waiting to shape me instead of allowing it to frighten me deter me?
I do not know how long this season will last. I do not know what will be waiting for me when it ends.
But I know I do not want to leave this season unchanged.
I want to become softer here.
More trusting.
More willing.
I want to become who God needs me to be before the door opens.
The Whisper
In the waiting, I search for You.
In the waiting, I find peace
simply knowing You are near.
In the waiting, You shaped my soul
to what it is now.
And in the silence… I wait.
Longing for Your voice to call me home.
Scripture
“Wait for the Lord; my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope.” Psalm 130:5
A Quiet Thought
Perhaps the waiting is not only about reaching the place God has prepared.
Perhaps it is also about becoming the person who will be ready when He calls.
